Chapter 37 - 40

In chapter thirty-seven, Teresa told Newt and Alby that she started the Ending, but she said that she lost all memory about what it is but she remembered that it was an accident. Alby still took that as a confession and sent her to the Slammer. Everyone was getting ready for the Grievers to attack, the weapons were distributed and barricades were made. As they prepared they heard a Griever moan in the Maze.

In chapter thirty-eight, plans were being made on studying the maps harder to see if they could find any codes. Thomas, Minho, and Newt started to notice that Alby has been acting weird and they believe that it has happened because of the happening. As hours passed the sound of Grievers got louder then finally some of the boards were being ripped apart and when the dust settled down there stood Gally.

Gally looked as if he had gone insane and his clothes were torn and dirty. He was warning people that the Griever will come and kill one person every night to come.  He blamed all this on Thomas and continued his message. Then he ripped more boards off the barricade and told people that they shouldn’t want to go to the real world and that they wouldn’t want to remember it either.  A Griever than broke in and snatched Gally and rolled away into the Maze. Minho also ran into the Maze after the Griever.

Newt and Thomas saw Minho run after the Griever, Thomas was going to go run after Minho but Newt said that they had bigger problems, someone burned the Map room.  Minho returned from the Maze and said that his theory was correct; the Griever went to the Griever Hole.  Thomas was worried about Teresa and visited her in her cell.  She said that she said that she was brainstorming ways that the Maze could be showing a code, with Thomas’ help they came up with a solid idea which was instead of comparing the one section with the next day’s they should compare all the section for one day.  Unfortunately Thomas remembered that the maps were destroyed.

I totally agreed with Thomas in chapter thirty-eight, that Alby has been acting different lately in the sense of his behaviour. Alby even said that he doesn’t even trust himself to make important decisions. I also noticed that Alby was normally before he went through the changing and know he’s uptight. I’m also wondering what the Ending is and what it’s meant to do.
